  • Result 1: The direct target group creates diversified, climate-resilient and disaster-proof income opportunities.
  • Result 2: The direct target group develops and implements strategies to gain access to social and economic safety nets as well as to relevant government services and protective social networks.
  • Result 3: The self-help organisations of the target group and local institutions improve their knowledge and strategies with regard to climate risk preparedness and disaster prevention.
  • Result 4: Particularly vulnerable communities and responsible policy-makers are better informed about the causes of vulnerability to climate change. Project is ongoing with the name of PORIBESH

Marginalised people who live below the lower poverty line and who are highly vulnerable to the consequences of climate change, establish climate-resilient and disaster-proof income generating activities and obtain access to social safety nets as well as to protective social networks in the form of village groups. This improves their immediate living conditions and - coupled with specific trainings - enables them to jointly address the consequences of climate change on local level through effective preparedness measures and adaptation strategies. On community level, the project mobilises other civil society actors and governmental authorities for effective disaster protection and climate-relevant risk management measures in the region and strengthens their capacities. The target group includes their perspectives into local development processes and conveys them to national political decision makers. The advocacy capacities of the local partner organisations are strengthened. Overall, the project sustainably strengthens the economic and social resilience as well as the adaptability to climate-related threats and natural disasters.
